Monk Fruit has been approved by US-FDA and has been used by Monks in China for centuries.
Monk fruit contains certain compounds that trick the tongue into sensing sweetness and the sugar passes through the body within 24-48 hours unused.
Monk Fruit which is grown only in a small province in China is harvested and dried.
The pulp is treated and processed to concentrate certain desirable compounds, Mogroside V, which is the compound resposible for sugar-like sweet taste.
It can then be mixed with a variety of ingredients based on different products and applications
Monk Fruit is absolutely safe to consume and have been consumed for decades .
In addition to being widely consumed (including companies like The Whole Truth) they have been approved by all major Food Safety organisations worldwide.
If everything seems too good to be true, it usually is.
When we decided to feed our family and millions of Indians, we too stumbled on this question.
We like to be as transparent as we can and saving you some time, are have compiled all the arguments made against Monk Fruit sweeteners and our take on it.
Please remember that food is a constant evolving space and we are open for feedback and questions at all times.
Yes absolutely.
Monk Fruit has been used since ages(1300 years) by monks, hence the name.
We source the Monk Fruit powder from the same fields that it has been growing for ages.
Our sugar is made with a US FDA approved formula in a highly safe and compliant plant.
It is better because it is natural (unlike sucralose, aspertame, etc), has no aftertaste (unlike stevia), has a longer historical usage proof, and the medical community has largely supported its usage.
Yes, you can cook with this sugar.
You can bake, freeze, boil, basically do anything you would with normal sugar (except melt it to form molasses/chasni). People have already made, tea, kheer, cold coffees, cakes, rasgulla and a lot more with it. In case of doubts, please reach to us at founder@goodsugar.in/9638949513.
While there is no immediate or gross side effect of our products.
Over-consumption of the erythritol powder may lead to laxative effects, for that we woudl recommend you to go with our liquid version.
Absolutely. You can make anything and everything that you did with your old sugar.
So there are mainly 2 products:
1. Good Sugar Powder: This contains Erythritol and Monk Fruit Extract. This is available in Jar and Sachets.
2. Good Sugar Liquid: This contains Water and Monk Fruit Extract. This is available in Dropper.
Why the difference?
The difference arises from 1. Application and 2. Consumer Preference
Good Sugar Powder is more suited to replace the powdered sugar in your kitchen, it can easily be swapped for sugar in baking, beverages, etc.
Liquid is more cost effecient, better choice for people who do not wish to consume erythritol and very easy to use with beverages.
Our Sugar(s) has one main ingredient: Monk Fruit Extract
This is obtained by treating the pulp of Monk Fruit which we obtain from China.
The Second ingredient in our product is Erythritol (only in powder, not in liquid) which is made from fermenting corn.
We are FSSAI, GMP and ISO certified.
Additionally we only import from companies that are US FDA certified.
Our Powder sugar is ~₹800/kg whereas the liquid is effectively ~₹300/kg

Hi, Just wanted to send a quick email to show appreciation for your product. I (24F) just got diagnosed with diabetes and no 0 zero calorie sweetener ever managed to satisfy my sugar cravings.... until i came across your product. I have now started the process of getting my non diabetic family members hooked onto it by secretly using it in indian sweet dish recipes. Really happy with your product and i hope you go far in this journey, esp in the diabetes capital of the world INDIA!
I am diabetic since last 3 years and honestly i had almost stopped drinking tea because every sugar free i tried had very bad after taste. Someone suggested monk fruit so i searched randomly and found your brand. Was little doubtful because price was reasonable. But after using it for 1 week i am very satisfied. Sweetness feels natural and most important my sugar readings are stable. For first time in long time i enjoyed morning tea again. Thank you for making such product.
I don’t usually write reviews but felt like sharing this. I am pre diabetic and doctor strictly told no sugar. Tried stevia, erythritol blends etc but nothing worked for me. Either bitter or stomach issues. Your monk fruit drops are very clean, no weird taste and even small quantity is enough. I use it in curd and sometimes in lemon water also. Happy that its just monk fruit without mixing other things. Will continue using.
I am very particular about what i eat and try to avoid refined sugar as much as possible. Gym + clean diet is my routine but sometimes food without sweetness was always missing something. Found your monk fruit sweetener while searching for clean alternatives. What i liked most is ingredient list is very simple and no fillers. Taste is mild, not overpowering and no chemical type after taste. I use it daily in coffee and sometimes protein shakes also. Feels like a good long term switch.
Good Sugar has been tasted by 10k+ people and we have replaced >50,000kg of sugar from the Indian Diet.
